Gold and lithium explorer Forrestania Resources has struck a deal to acquire four granted exploration licences adjacent to the Edna May gold mine, in Western Australia’s Southern Cross region.

The company will acquire a 100% interest in the tenements (E77/2756, E77/2766, E77/3234 and E77/3237) from Kula Gold for $500 000 in cash on settlement, with a further A$1-million cash payable upon reporting an inferred mineral resource of at least 100 000 oz of gold, or equivalent, under the Joint Ore Resources Committee code.

Settlement of the deal is subject to conditions precedent, including financial, legal and technical due diligence, as well as regulatory and third-party approvals. Completion is expected by October 12.

“We will continue to drive the consolidation of high-quality gold assets and ultimately Forrestania Resources will become a major gold player in the Southern Cross region,” said Forrestania chairperson David Geraghty.

Forrestania is active across the Forrestania, Southern Cross and Eastern Goldfields regions, where it is exploring for gold, copper and lithium. Its portfolio includes ground near the Bounty gold mine, the Covalent Mt Holland lithium mine, and the Flying Fox and Spotted Quoll nickel mines.
